Marc's intellectual property practice includes providing patent searches and patentability opinions, patent drafting, filing, and prosecution, non-infringement and invalidity opinions, cease and desist letters, licensing and assignment agreements, and trademark prosecution and consultation.
Marc has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a variety of technologies, including immunology, gene delivery and therapy, microarrays, virology, bacteriology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, ultrasound, and mechanical devices.
Legal Experience
Marc has over six years of intellectual property experience. Prior to forming Baumgartner Patent Law, Marc was the managing partner of Intellectual Property at Achtel Law Firm, APC and an associate at Knobbe, Martens, Olson, and Bear, LLP. Through his work there, Marc represented numerous leading institutions including Genentech, Illumina, Inc, Ashland Inc, and the Salk Institute for Biological Sciences.
During law school, Marc externed for the honorable Napoleon Jones in the Southern District of California.
